Clio Pepsi Emerging Creative

Once the big secret is reveal, we challenged Pepsi followers to finally enjoy the true flavour of Christmas.

On 22 December, we're challenging Pepsi followers to photograph and share one of Mother Christmas's recipes with #MOTHERCHRISTMASCHALLENGE.

The author of the most appetising photo will have Mother Christmas knocking on their door on 23 December to give them 100 Pepsis for the years she left them without knowing the truth.

Pepsi has been trying to combat Coca Cola at mealtimes for many years, and the holiday season is no exception.

The briefing said: “PEOPLE KNOW COLA GOES WELL WITH FOOD, BUT THEY HAVE NO REAL REASON TO CHOOSE PEPSI”. So, It was time to give people a reason to choose Pepsi over Coke. It was time for everyone to know the truth.

For many years, Pepsi has kept a secret from the world.

It didn't do it out of spite. It did it out of protection and affection for a person so dear to it. But the truth always comes out and there's no better time to do it than in this era, where people take to the streets to reveal their truths.

Father Christmas has long thought that Coca Cola was the best drink for Christmas but, as much as it pains us to admit…

MOTHERS ALWAYS KNOW BEST.

In partnership with the largest postal company of each country, Pepsi will send a letter to everyone in the world with a true Christmas present signed, not by Santa Claus, but by another character who is also respected, but sometimes forgotten.

A truth that arrived to change Christmas FOREVER.

At the end of the letter there were a QR Code that took people to the E- cookbook written by Mother Christmas with all her Christmas secrets.

In this book there are the traditional Christmas recipes and depending on the dish, there is a suggested pairing with a particular Pepsi to accompany it.

And during the holiday season, Pepsi will continue to feed the narrative of Mother Christmas on social media.

And hopefully, this campaign will become so big that one day we'll have all the children writing a letter to Mother Christmas asking for presents (and some Pepsis too).
